“Purpose is the reason you journey. Passion is the fire that lights your way through it.”
Before we begin to discuss “How to find your passion?” the question is what brought you to think that you do need to find one?
Is it because you feel you are stuck in a dead-end job? Or are you tired over the years and need a change in life? Whatever the reason be, it is absolutely necessary that you find a purpose and passion for what you are about to do.
Start With the Right Perspective
Often the best counseling you can get is from your own self. The only person to know everything about you, good and bad, is you. Reward yourself with a positive (read ”PEP”) talk. Having the right perspective is crucial to make an informed decision.
You need to clear all the thoughts in your mind and stop worrying about the “What Ifs’ ?” Prepare yourself for the next step and take some distance with any source of negativity.
Do What You Love
If you want to reach a destination, it is first required for you to start walking and take the first step. Follow your curiosity.
Look out for what drives you and your question about how to find your passion is answered. Passion is something that you can continue doing relentlessly despite the challenges you face while accomplishing your goals.
Discern Between a Hobby and a Profitable Passion
- After asserting your desire to follow what you love, it is time to face reality. Always hold the mirror clear before yourself that only having passion is not enough.
There are two things that hold importance:
Are you good enough at doing it
Does it pay enough for your sustenance independently?
It is crucial to address the above two points as there is a difference between a hobby and a passion.
A hobby is something you do to relax for a brief period of time at frequent times. It is something that relaxes your mind. On the other hand, passion is what drives you each day to do the same thing. It is something you do intensely.
When you choose to convert passion into a profession, you get a chance to live your passion. A person may have many hobbies but one cannot have a passion for everything. There will be only one thing that motivates you more than anything else.
For some, reading or collecting comic books can be a hobby but there will only be a few who can actually discern a really good comic book or say publish one. So, Find your true passion and stop confusing hobbies with a passion.
Quit talking and start doing
Once you are clear about what you want to do, the key is to begin planning. Explore all the things you love to do and the resources in hand.
How far can you brave yourself and what are the major changes you need to undergo? Be clear about your life purpose. At the end of the day, it’s more about satisfaction than money.
Create something that would be an action plan with fixed goals. As and when you begin doing, you slowly observe results. This not only strengthens your morale, but it also gives you a direction.
Your work is going to fill a large part of your life. The only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work.
Never quit trying
Find your passion and it’s no longer work!
Discovering what you really want to do and the process to reach there is very exhausting. There may be times when you begin to doubt why you made the decision to take a risk.
In times of trial, it is absolutely necessary that you remain focused and stay motivated. Clear out the distractions, declutter your mind of the negative thoughts.
Conduct a Passion Test
When you identify your passion it is necessary to treat yourself a free trial period. You must be open to succeeding or failing consequently.
Take time for yourself. Align Your Goals With Your Life Purpose. You shall surely succeed.
Love what you do & if you haven’t found it yet, Keep Looking. Come what may do not settle for anything less than you deserve.
Pursue what excites you and fulfill your Passion!
